Derek Drummond – Principal

Derek is the lead Principal for Elevation Technical Services and has over 20 years experience managing small to large multidisciplinary project teams to the successful completion of diverse public infrastructure projects. Derek has worked for the Province of BC and the private sector in a variety of positions around the province. With 10 years of that experience being located in northern British Columbia (Prince George and Fort St. John), he brings an abundant of experience and knowledge from his positions within the Ministry of Attorney General, Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure (MOTI), Consulting Engineering, and the Highway Maintenance sector.

As the Operations Manager and District Manager for MOTI the North East, he delivered several road and bridge projects, as well as partnered with the oil & gas industry and local developers to build new roadways and strengthen existing infrastructure. He also had oversight for the Road & Bridge Maintenance, Rehabilitation, and the Commercial Vehicle Safety & Enforcement Programs.

Most recently at the Province, Derek was the Deputy Director with MOTI for the South Coast, responsible for several major planning initiatives that included the George Massey Tunnel Replacement Project, the Pattullo Bridge Strategic Review, as well as managing the capital programming and project delivery for the region. While with a major Engineering firm, Derek built a large multi-disciplined engineering and project delivery team, focused on Transportation projects across Western Canada. He also offers expertise as Project Director, Senior Project Manager, Transportation Planning, Indigenous Consultation Advisor, Contractual Negotiations and Agreements, and Stakeholder & Community Consultations.
