Elevation is pleased to welcome our new team member, Lindsay Carnes! Lindsay has joined Elevation in the role of Indigenous Relations Advisor – Team Lead. We are very excited to work with Lindsay as she leads us in the expansion of this area of our business.

Lindsay is a communications professional who excels at helping businesses achieve their goals through cultivating relationships and engagement. She has more than nine years of experience working on the Indigenous Relations Team for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.

We asked Lindsay about her passion for her work, and she shared some inspiring words with us…“I love connecting with people and talking through issues. One of the Chiefs I worked with would often say, ‘We are hard on issues and soft on people,’ and I have felt that throughout my work to date. Enjoying and respecting each other as humans, but also being able to figuratively roll up our sleeves and talk through sometimes contentious issues without easy solutions. I find this combination of personal connection and creative problem-solving to be so engaging and rewarding. I don’t take it lightly when individuals, including elders, give up their time to understand a project and provide their input. Through this type of dialogue, I believe projects are strengthened for everyone’s collective benefit.”

On joining Elevation, Lindsay said, “I have a strong sense that Elevation is focused on their people. This resonates with me as I think when people feel supported, they can thrive in the work they do. The fact that Elevation is employee-owned is also a unique strength, and I think this results in collaboration and a shared sense of responsibility and goals.”

Lindsay lives in Victoria, B.C. Outside of her work, she can often be found pointing out the moon in the evenings or reading books on the moon to her moon-obsessed toddler.

Welcome to the team, Lindsay! We are looking forward to working with and learning from you.
