Through the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program, the Province of B.C. is improving Highway 1 in the Fraser Valley to better serve the growing region and the more than 80,000 motorists who use the highway between Langley and Abbotsford, and through the Sumas Prairie into Chilliwack every day.

The Mt. Lehman project includes the following improvements:

  • Improvements to truck climbing lanes including:
    • Westbound  for approximately 3.2km (extension to existing climbing lane)
    • Eastbound  for approximately 1.1km
  • Two new structures at Fish Trap Creek
  • New Multi-Use Path (MUP) paralleling Highway 1 approximately from Ross Road to Mt. Lehman Road, and along the Mt. Lehman Underpass.
  • Expansion of Mt. Lehman Underpass.
  • Seismic upgrades to Fraser Highway Underpass.
  • Environmental offsetting and enhancements.
